Construction Continues for Women, Mothers, Babies

At Saint Vincent, it is an exciting time for women, new moms and their babies.

Construction is currently underway for 10 new private rooms for gynecology patients and pregnant women who require hospitalization.  The unit is scheduled to be completed by summer.

Starting in June, work will begin on a new nursery, which will provide much-needed space to care for the record number of babies being born at Saint Vincent – nearly twice that of any other hospital in the region. 

At the same time, work will begin a sparkling new 27-room Mother/Baby unit, where new moms can recover and bond with their babies in style.  The new rooms will be completely private, with beautiful décor and a shower in every room.  The nursery and Mother/Baby unit are expected to be complete in late fall 2009.
