After recovering for at least half an hour in the first phase recovery area, you are moved to the second phase recovery room where family members or a friend can join you and stay throughout the rest of your recovery. There are lounge chairs and a television in this room.

When it is time to go home, you will receive instructions from your nurse on everything from what to eat and drink to when you can shower following your surgery. You will receive a list of phone numbers, prescriptions (if needed) and instructions for a follow-up appointment with your surgeon. A nurse from the Saint Vincent Surgery Center will call you within a few days after your surgery to find out how you are doing.
