On-site Credentialing Made Easy and Fun!
Credentialing. For nurses, it’s a fact of life. At Saint Vincent we make it both convenient and fun! Saint Vincent Patient Care Services coordinates three 12-hour credentialing fairs each year, so our nurses have multiple opportunities to attend. Nurses visit stations where they fulfill credentialing requirements as defined by state regulatory agencies and Saint Vincent. The focus is on high-risk, low-frequency skill sets. Saint Vincent also coordinates two additional fairs exclusively for critical care areas. Nurses are compensated for their participation in the fairs.
Credentialing fair stations are staffed by expert trainers. All the information you need is conveniently located in one room. Though topics can vary from year to year, credentialing stations typically cover:
- Mock code blue
- PCA pump
- IVs
- Restraints
- Transfer technique
- Wound vac
- Dobhoff
- Ostomy
- Chest tubes
- Tracheotomy care
- Accu-Chek
- Gastroccult
- Moderate sedation
- Cultural diversity
- Blood transfusions
- Insulin pumps
- Cardiac-specific skills
