Dorothy Candib, MD
Dorothy Candib, MD is Director of Geriatric Education. She was born in Montreal, Canada and attended Vassar College. She received her MD from McGill University. After completing an Internal Medicine residency at the Montreal General Hospital, she served as Chief Medical Resident at Montefiore Hospital, University of Pittsburgh. She is board certified in Internal Medicine by the ABIM with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Geriatric Medicine. Her areas of interest are care of the frail elderly, long-term care and hospice care. Her personal interests are cooking, reading and traveling, hiking and biking in the summer and cross-country skiing in the winter.
   
Caitlin S. Clark, DO
Caitlin S. Clark, DO is a native of Annapolis, Maryland and is an Assistant Director. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Villanova University. She attended the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed an internship at Geisinger Medical Center and graduated from the Saint Vincent Family Practice Residency Program. She has an interest in women’s health care, including obstetrics. She is married to Christopher Clark, D.O., who is also on the faculty. Her personal interests include golfing, running and traveling.
   
Christopher Clark, DO
Dr. Clark is originally from Erie and was actually born at Saint Vincent. He is a graduate of Boston College and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Family Practice at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA, where he served as Chief Resident. Previous to joining the faculty, he was in practice in Fairview, PA. He serves as the Director of Osteopathic Medical Education at Saint Vincent, responsible for the Osteopathic Internship program and the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) student rotations. He also Chairs the Continuing Medical Education Committee (CME) at Saint Vincent and directs the Grand Rounds program. Dr. Clark remains active in the medical community and serves on the Executive Board of the Erie County Medical Society. He loves all aspects of Family Practice and academic medicine and has a special clinical interest in preventative medicine, geriatrics and palliative care. He is married to Caitlin Clark, D.O., also a member of the Family Practice faculty and enjoys time with his two children. Outside of medicine, Dr. Clark is an avid sports fan and golfer.
   
Linda Connell, MSW
Linda Connell MSW is a native of Maine and is Director of Behavioral Science. She is a licensed clinical social worker. She received master’s degrees from the University of Georgia in Family Development focusing on marriage and family therapy from Case Western Reserve University in Social Work. Ms. Connell has practiced as a family therapist for 30 years. She is co-author of Defiance in the Family: Finding Hope in Therapy with David Keith MD and Gary Connell PhD. She is particularly interested in at risk children who have difficulty in the classroom. She has taught numerous parenting groups and social skills groups for at risk children. She maintains a clinical practice at the Family Medicine Center. Her personal interests include cooking with friends, gardening, knitting and visits with her grandchildren.
   
Michael J. Cooney, MD
Dr. Cooney was born at Saint Vincent and was raised in Erie before attending the University of Notre Dame for his undergraduate degree. He came back to Pennsylvania to attend Hahnemann University School of Medicine then completed his Internal Medicine residency at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Virginia. After serving his military commitment at Camp LeJeune in North Carolina, Dr. Cooney came to Saint Vincent to specialize in adult medical inpatient care (hospitalist medicine) for seven years before joining the Saint Vincent Family Medicine Residency faculty. Board certified in Internal Medicine, he assists with resident education regarding adult medical issues. Dr. Cooney also directs the Palliative Care Service at Saint Vincent. He and his wife have three daughters and enjoy music and family activities.
   
Kathleen Dudenhoefer, MD
Dr. Dudenhoefer obtained her medical degree at Jefferson Medical College in 1969 and completed a pediatric residency in 1972 at the University of Rochester. Board certified in pediatrics, Dr. Dudenhoefer has been the pediatric coordinator for the Saint Vincent Family Practice Residency Program since 1977. Her outside interests include gardening and teaching.
   
Bruce Gebhardt, MD
Bruce Gebhardt M.D. graduated from Allegheny College and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. His residency in family medicine was completed at St. Vincent's in Erie, Pa. Dr. Gebhardt has been a teaching physician for 16 years-starting with private practice in the Boston area and most recently as Associate Professor of Family Medicine and Pediatrics and Pre-doctoral Division Director at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Gebhardt's clinical interests include headache care, international health, wilderness medicine, and HIV/AIDS care. He was honored with the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award in 2006 from UC. Dr. Gebhardt is married and has two children. Travel, skiing, soccer, and lacrosse are family favorites.
   
Richard Kuhn, MD
Richard Kuhn, MD, obtained his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1961. He is board certified in Family Practice and is a
lifetime member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. A former chairman of the Saint Vincent Medical Staff, Dr. Kuhn played an integral role in the establishment of the Saint Vincent Family Practice Residency Program. He has received numerous honors, including the
Saint Vincent Board of Trustees Medical Staff Recognition Award, the Children’s Miracle Network “Miracle Maker” award and the Saint Vincent
Doctors Day Physician of the Year award. Though semi-retired, Dr. Kuhn remains active in precepting, pediatric teaching rounds and other medical education activities.
   
Mark Masteller, DO
Mark Masteller, DO attended Penn State then PCOM Medical School and subsequent fellowship at the University of Rochester in Obstetrics. He has an interest in women’s health care. His personal interests include soccer and marathon running.
   
Robert Mikelonis, M.D.
Associate Director of the Residency. Responsible for the Family Medicine Center at the Erie Campus, and the resident’s office experience. Graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and Saint Vincent Family Practice Residency Program. Enjoyed 10 years of Private Practice in State College Pa. before joining the residency faculty in 1993. Hobbies include fishing, hiking, sports and dogs. Special Interests: Nutrition and Metabolism. Quote: “You are what you eat.”
   
Gary J. Silko, MD
Program Director, Saint Vincent Family Practice Residency Program. Graduate of Penn State University, Jefferson Medical College and Saint Vincent Family Practice Residency. Completed a Fellowship in Academic Family Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. Involved in medical student and resident education for 20 years. Special interests: dermatology, quality improvement, patient education, legal medicine. Hobbies: music (piano, trumpet, CD collecting), movies, sports. Quote: “While there is no denying the faculty, staff and educational experiences are phenomenal at Saint Vincent, my favorite part of our program is the residents. We have been blessed with residents who are committed to family practice, who work hard but have fun doing their job and who have diverse outside interests that lend balance to their lives.
   
Jonathan D. McKrell, M.D.
I am entering my twelfth year with the Saint Vincent Family Medicine Residency Program and my fourth year as the Program Director for the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Saint Vincent Health Center. I completed my medical school education at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine and my family medicine residency training at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio. I obtained a certificate of added qualifications in Sports Medicine in 1997. I have been fortunate to have a diverse clinical background in Sports Medicine with exposure to athletes of all ages and skill levels in a wide variety of sports. I believe the strength of our fellowship is the strong hands-on clinical experience available to our fellows. I find great satisfaction in helping our highly motivated fellows obtain an excellent foundation for their career in Sports Medicine. We are committed to providing the proper balance of clinical exposure, didactic teaching, and independent study that will enable you to make the most of your fellowship training.
