• Pioneering the use of evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes and exceeding state averages
• First in the area to use enhanced external counterpulsation for angina chest pain relief
• Decreasing potential complications by introducing the use of blood clot-dissolving drugs for heart patients
• First cardiologist in the region to perform a minimally invasive patch procedure to fix a hole in the heart.
• Saint Vincent heart surgeons were the first in the region to perform coronary artery bypass and valve replacement surgeries.
