One of the most important concerns a family has when relocating to a new community or starting a new job is child care. The caring environment of the Saint Vincent Child Care Center is designed to alleviate those concerns. At the Center, which is conveniently located just one block from Saint Vincent Health Center, you’ll find a beautiful, fully licensed and certified facility that offers services for children from 0 to 5 years of age. The Center staff is attuned to the needs of children and committed to their happiness, growth and development.

The center is open from 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and has colorful and stimulating indoor and outdoor facilities.

The Center offers subsidized rates for Saint Vincent Associates…along with the priceless reassurance that your children are being cared for by colleagues and are only minutes away.

Creativity, caring and innovation are hallmarks of the Center. It’s artistic, educational and activity programming is second to none. And its American Sign Language program gives the very youngest children an opportunity to begin to communicate before verbal skills are developed.

Quality is also at the heart of the Saint Vincent Child Care Center. The Center has earned the Keystone Star, an award presented by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to centers that voluntarily participate in the quality project and are ranked at the highest levels in the state.

2nd Child Rate: 10 percent off the oldest child’s rate
3rd Child Rate: 10 percent off the 2nd child’s rate

*Rates include breakfast and an afternoon snack.

Payroll deduction for child care costs is available for associates. Saint Vincent also offers a flexible benefits plan so that associates may pay child care expenses with pre-tax dollars.

Saint Vincent Sick Child Care for Associates

Saint Vincent Sick Child Care, available in the Saint Vincent Pediatrics unit on the sixth floor of the Health Center, offers associates an alternative to staying home with a sick child. Your child will receive the best of care from RNs, LPNs and volunteer foster grandparents. A pediatric nurse will oversee your child’s care and administer necessary medications according to your instructions. For your child’s entertainment, toys, games, TVs and VCRs are available.

Available 24 Hours a Day, 7 Days a Week
Beds are available on a first-come, first-served basis and depend upon the unit’s patient census.

Eligibility
Children from 6 weeks to 16 years old, who are mildly ill or recuperating from surgery, are eligible for Saint Vincent Sick Child Care services. Saint Vincent will not be responsible should your child contract a communicable illness while in the program.

Daily Registration
Call Pediatrics at ext. 5861 at least one hour before bringing your child to the unit to ensure staff and space are available. You are welcome to call the unit the night before you plan to bring your child in. The staff can check on space availability for you. Please leave the phone number where you can be reached while your child is in the Sick Child Care program. Feel free to call or visit the unit anytime to check on your child.

What to Bring

• Favorite toys, pacifiers, other security items
• Change of clothing
• Supplies such as diapers and formula
• Any medications and their instructions
• Meals and snacks for the day. Juice and milk are available on the unit.
