Social Security
Associates and Saint Vincent pay taxes for Social Security and Medicare called FICA. In 2007 you pay 6.20% for social security and 1.45% for Medicare. For questions regarding Social Security and your available benefits go to www.socialsecurity.gov.

Tuition Assistance (40 hours per pay after 6 months)

Paid Time Off (PTO) (40 hours per pay, excluding temps)

  • Associates paid over 40 hours per pay immediately begin accruing hours
  • PTO hours are usable after introductory period
  • 125% maximum accrual
  • Hours can be used for vacation, illness, family illness, personal business, bereavement and legal holidays

Extended Sick Bank (ESB)
(70 hours per pay, excluding Temps)

  • Following introductory period, full-time regular status associates paid over 70 hours per pay will accrue 3.08 hours of sick time each pay
  • Maximum accrual is 1,040 hours
  • After utilizing 24 hours of PTO, associates can begin to use ESB hours after they have been approved for an FMLA
  • Associates who have accrued 520 hours or more at termination received credit in their pension benefit for these hours

Special Needs Fund

  • Assists regular status associates who are facing serious illness for themselves or a family member
  • Associates can donate hours to co-workers who need time off but do not have the PTO time available

Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)

  • If you are eligible for FMLA and have a qualifying event, you are entitled to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave during a 12-month period
  • Eligibility -- One year of service with 1,040 hours in that year
  • Qualifying Event

  • Serious health condition for yourself, for your spouse, child or parent
  • The first 24 hours of FMLA are paid with PTO hours and then ESB hours, if available
