 Technology, service and convenience. It’s a new era in imaging, and Saint Vincent is at the forefront. The Saint Vincent Imaging Center at Yorktown is our newest center of excellence, bringing the most advanced imaging technology and services to outpatients and physicians. The new center’s easily accessible location in Erie’s Yorktown Plaza on West 12 Street also offers patients ample free parking, convenient hours and rapid results.
Saint Vincent’s new outpatient imaging center features high definition ultrasound, X-ray, and fluoroscopy. An on-site radiologist ensures fast turnaround of results.
Additional features of the new center include:
10-slice CT scanner
The 10-slice CT scanner is the most powerful available in an outpatient setting. It delivers speedy, high quality images with less X-ray energy, allowing for improved accuracy and earlier diagnosis in a wide range of applications. It provides greater coverage in a very short time, requiring shorter breath holds and less discomfort for patients. This equipment can accommodate patients weighing up to 440 pounds.
0.6 Tesla magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
0.6 Tesla is the most powerful open MRI available in a non-hospital setting in the region, three times stronger than any other. This MRI provides the strongest, sharpest images at a faster rate than conventional technology, balancing increased patient comfort with high quality images and faster completion time. The equipment’s open C-shape is designed to accommodate larger patients and alleviate patient anxiety and claustrophobia.
PACS digital technology (coming spring 2006)
PACS is a system of computed radiography, allowing referring physicians to access both images and reports online from their own office computers. This computer software has the ability to send results to referring physicians within seconds. The PACS digital technology will become operational in the spring of 2006.

Traveling from the South: Take I-79 to West 12th Street Exit. Go ½ mile to Yorktown Center, located on left.
Traveling from the East: Take 12th Street past I-79, ½ mile. Yorktown Center will be located on the left.
Traveling from the West: Yorktown Center is located ½ mile east of Peninsula Drive.
