Children's Miracle Network is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping hospitalized kids by raising funds and awareness for children's hospitals. The 170 premier hospitals affiliated with Children's Miracle Network help 14 million kids each year — kids with cancer, birth defects, AIDS, accident trauma and every affliction imaginable. These specialized hospitals are the finest in the world, providing quality, kid-centered care to every child who needs it, regardless of their family's ability to pay.
Creating Partnerships
In 1986 Saint Vincent Health Center was selected to join the Children's Miracle Network. Together, Saint Vincent and the hundreds of Children's Miracle Network corporate sponsors and individual donors have raised more than $2 million to help children throughout Erie County. All funds raised locally stay in Erie; that's our promise to all donors.
Building a Healthy Future for Our Children
Since becoming a CMN-affiliated hospital, Saint Vincent has provided direct service and health education to tens of thousands of children. Pediatric services provided by Saint Vincent include:
- Level 3, state-of-the-art neonatal intensive care unit
- Pediatric inpatient care
- Pediatric emergency care
- Scrubby Bear® school-based program educating children about the importance of hand-washing to prevent the spread of infection
- Pediatric prescription program providing underinsured infants and children with needed formula and medications
Children's Fund
In 2002 Saint Vincent began a pediatric endowment with a portion of Children's Miracle Network funds. Every year, 10 percent of new money raised for CMN will be designated to the pediatric endowment Children's Fund to ensure the health of children now and in perpetuity.
