Artificial Cervical Disc Replacement is a procedure that offers new hope to people suffering from chronic and severe neck, shoulder and/or arm pain resulting from cervical degenerative disc disease (DDD). The PRESTIGE® Cervical Disc is a surgical implant inserted into the disc space and attached to the vertebrae on either side, replacing a diseased or damaged disc. Eligible patients for this procedure experience pain relief and a chance to maintain motion in their necks following surgery.

The PRESTIGE Cervical Disc is the first artificial disc approved for the cervical spine by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Currently, spinal fusion is the standard of care for patients suffering from DDD, and is still indicated for certain patients. Fusion is a successful treatment, but restricts motion. The PRESTIGE Cervical Disc allows for the preservation of motion and is an effective and safe treatment for many patients.
