As the region’s cancer expert, The Saint Vincent Cancer Care Center presents and participates in various programs designed for early detection and prevention of cancer.

Community Screenings
The Saint Vincent Cancer Care Center presents cancer screenings at community health fairs, at work sites, and in partnership with community organizations.

Saint Vincent to Present Free Seminar for the Men Who Care for Women with Breast Cancer
The Saint Vincent Women’s Center will present a seminar titled, “Adam’s Rib: a Breast Cancer Action Plan and Caregivers Guide for Men,” the seminar will take place on Saturday, May 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Palace Business Center 1001 State Street, 1st floor Conference Room.  This seminar will offer insights into how men can make a difference in the life of a loved one with breast cancer, while taking care of themselves as well. The featured speaker will be Marc Heyison, co-founder of Men against Breast Cancer. The first 50 men to register will receive a free book on Breast Cancer Caregiving as well as a free lunch. Programs offered with the YMCA 
The YMCA is hosting a weekly program entitled Activities Through Cancer Treatment and Beyond (ACT). ACT is an exercise program that is designed to sustain and build strength for patients going through cancer treatment. The components of each class include cardio work, strength work, flexibility, and relaxation.  The program is held every Monday at 6 pm in the McGarvey Learning Center.  Please call the Eastside YMCA at (814) 899-9622 to register.

Programs offered by the American Cancer Society
Saint Vincent works with the American Cancer Society to offer Look Good...Feel Better programs through the Women's Center. Look Good..Feel Better is a non-medical, brand-neutral public service program that teaches beauty techniques to cancer patients to help them manage the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. The program will be held at Saint Vincent no the following dates and times. Pre-registration is required.  Please call 1-800-ACS-2345 if you would like to register.

The American Cancer Society also offers Man to Man, a program designed for men who have been diagnosed, are going through or have been cured from prostate cancer. It is an opportunity to learn more about prostate cancer, the options and to have support from people who are going through the program. Man to Man support group meetings are held the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm. There are no meetings scheduled for July or August. Meetings are held at the Scottish Rite, 4710 Old Zuck Rd, Erie, PA, 16505.
