Medical Student Rotations

« Back to Medical Professionals

Saint Vincent Health Center has affiliation agreements with Des Moines University, Drexel University School of Medicine, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, the Penn State University/Milton S. Hershey School of Medicine and Temple University School of Medicine for core rotations.

Third-Year Student Rotations
Saint Vincent Family Medicine offers four- and six-week clerkship experiences for third-year medical students.  This is primarily an outpatient experience that emphasizes ambulatory family medicine.

Fourth-Year Elective Rotations
Elective rotations at Saint Vincent Health Center are subject to availability.  Students are encouraged to contact the Office of Medical Education for more information.  Most rotations will allow interaction with interns and residents and exposure to our post-graduate programs.

Housing is available for out-of-town students.

Requests for elective rotations are only accepted through e-mail.  For more information, please contact Mrs. Doris Schiller, medical student coordinator, at dschiller@svhs.org.

Educational Prerequisites
Clerkships require completion of two years at an accredited U.S. allopathic or osteopathic medical school; fourth-year rotations require three years.  Proof of your school’s umbrella malpractice coverage and details of your personal immunization history are also required.
