Dorothy Candib, MD
Dorothy Candib, MD, is Director of Geriatric Education. She was born in Montreal, Canada and attended Vassar College. She received her medical degree from McGill University. After completing  internal medicine residency at the Montreal General Hospital, she served as Chief Medical Resident at Montefiore Hospital, University of Pittsburgh. She is board certified in Internal Medicine by the ABIM with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Geriatric Medicine. Her areas of interest are care of the frail elderly, long-term care and hospice care. Her personal interests are cooking, reading and traveling, hiking and biking in summer and cross-country skiing in winter. 

Caitlin S. Clark, DO
Assistant Program Director
Caitlin S. Clark, DO, is a native of Annapolis, Md., and is an assistant director for the Saint Vincent Family Practice Residency Program. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Villanova University. She attended the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed an internship at Geisinger Medical Center and graduated from the Saint Vincent Family Practice Residency Program. She has an interest in women’s health care, including obstetrics. She is married to Christopher Clark, DO, who is also on the faculty. Her personal interests include golfing, running and traveling.

Christopher Clark, DO
Christopher Clark, DO, is a part time faculty member for the Family Medicine Residency Program and has been associated with the program since 2001.  He currently oversees quality, informatics, continuing medical education and patient relations for Saint Vincent Health System, serving as the Chief Quality Officer and Associate Chief Medical Officer. He previously served as Director of Continuing Medical Education and Director of Osteopathic Medical Education. Dr. Clark is a graduate of Cathedral Preparatory School in Erie, Boston College and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa., where he served as chief resident in family medicine. Dr. Clark is the Immediate Past President of the Erie County Medical Society, serves on the Pennsylvania Medical Society’s Commission on CME, and is a site surveyor for CME programs in Western Pennsylvania. He is married to Caitlin Clark, DO, also on the faculty. 

Linda Currier, MSW
Linda Currier, MSW, is a native of Maine and is Director of Behavioral Science. She is a licensed clinical social worker. She received master's degrees from the University of Georgia in Family Development, focusing on marriage and family therapy, and from Case Western Reserve University in Social Work. Ms. Currier has practiced as a family therapist for 30 years. She is co-author of Defiance in the Family: Finding Hope in Therapy with David Keith, MD, and Gary Connell, PhD. She is particularly interested in at-risk children who have difficutly in the classroom. She has taught numerous parenting groups and social skills groups for at-risk children. She maintains a clinical practice at the Saint Vincent Family Medicine Center. Her personal interests include cooking with friends, gardening, knitting and visits with her grandchildren.

Kathleen Dudenhoefer, MD 
Kathleen Dudenhoefer, MD, obtained her medical degree at Jefferson Medical College in 1969 and completed a pediatric residency in 1972 at the University of Rochester. Board certified in Pediatrics, Dr. Dudenhoefer has been the pediatric coordinator for the Saint Vincent Family Practice Residency Program since 1977. Her outside interests include gardening and teaching.

Bruce Gebhardt, MD
Program Director
Bruce Gebhardt, MD, has been program director since 2008. He is an Erie native who moved back to join the residency program. Bruce graduated from Allegheny College, the University of Cincinnati (UC) College of Medicine, and Saint Vincent Family Medicine Residency Program. After residency, he practiced for five years on the south shore of Boston while also serving as a volunteer faculty member at Tufts Medical School and UMass Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Gebhardt returned to Cincinnati as a full-time faculty member, practicing and teaching. He was the Pre-Doctoral Division Director and rose to Associate Professor rank. Dr. Gebhardt was a regular participant in UC Family Medicine's International Health program in Honduras and completed a sabbatical in headache care.  

Dr. Gebhardt’s wife Robin is a high school english/reading teacher. He has two children, Ben and Anna, along with two dogs and two cats. His greatest work honor was being awarded the Gold Humanism in Medicine Award by his fellow faculty at UC. His medical interests include wilderness medicine, headache, HIV/AIDS and education. Outside of medicine, he coaches his kid’s lacrosse teams, plays tennis, hikes, and loves history and travel.   Dr. Gebhardt’s life goal is to learn one thing a day.

Jeffrey Kim, DO
Jeffrey Kim, DO, serves as the director of the Traditional Osteopathic Rotating Internship Program, as well as clinical faculty member of the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Program.  He is trained and board certified in both family medicine and primary care sports medicine. In addition to his faculty and clinical responsibilities, he serves as the team physician for Penn State Behrend, Fairview High School and Northwestern High School.  Dr. Kim is a graduate of Marquette University’s College of Engineering and the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Kim originates from Pittsburgh and has lived in Erie for the past eight years. He enjoys the challenge and excitement of teaching residents and fellows, and has a strong interest in primary care sports medicine. 

Richard Kuhn, MD
Program Director, Emeritus
Richard Kuhn, MD, obtained his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1961. He is board certified in family practice and is a lifetime member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. A former chairman of the Saint Vincent Medical Staff, Dr. Kuhn played an integral role in the establishment of the Saint Vincent Family Practice Residency Program. He has received numerous honors, including the Saint Vincent Board of Trustees Medical Staff Recognition Award, the Children’s Miracle Network “Miracle Maker” award and was honored as the Saint Vincent Doctors Day honoree. Though semi-retired, Dr. Kuhn remains active in precepting, pediatric teaching rounds and other medical education activities.

Laura McIntosh, MD
Laura McIntosh, MD, is the associate director of the Saint Vincent Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship. Dr. McIntosh earned her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, completed her family practice residency at UPMC-Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa., and completed her sports medicine fellowship at Saint Vincent. She also specializes in diagnosing and managing concussions. Dr. McIntosh is the team physician for Mercyhurst Preparatory School and assists in covering games for the Erie Seawolves and Erie Explosion. She provides medical coverage for several local athletic events including the Bay Swim, Highmark Quad Games, Erie Rugby Tournament and Presque Isle Triathlon. 

Jonathan D. McKrell, MD
Jonathan D. McKrell, MD, is entering his 12th year with the Saint Vincent Family Practice Residency Program and his fourth year as the director of the Saint Vincent Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Program. He earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed his family medicine residency at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio. He obtained a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine in 1997. Dr. McKrell has a diverse clinical background in sports medicine with exposure to athletes of all ages and skill levels in a wide variety of sports.

Robert Mikelonis, MD
Robert Mikelonis, MD, associate faculty member of the Saint Vincent Family Practice Residency Program, graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1979. He completed his family medicine residency at Saint Vincent in 1982. Dr. Mikelonis was in private practice as a family physician in State College until 1993 when he returned to Saint Vincent to join the residency faculty. His interests include metabolic syndrome, nutrition and the related epidemics of diabetes and obesity. Dr. Mikelonis is also the director of the new Wilderness Medicine Track program.  

Timothy D. Pelkowski, MD 
Assistant Program Director
Timothy D. Pelkowski, MD, is a native of Erie, Pa., and is an assistant director for the Saint Vincent Family Practice Residency Program.  He earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.  He completed his family medicine residency in 2000 with the Saint Vincent Family Practice Residency Program. He then completed a fellowship in primary care sports medicine from Saint Vincent in 2001.  Dr. Pelkowski is currently enrolled in the Faculty Development Fellowship at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.  Prior to becoming a faculty member, he was in private practice for 10 years.  Dr. Pelkowski is involved with medical student education, continuing medical education, the Erie County Medical Association, and he functions as the clinical coordinator of the Northwest Pennsylvania Area Health Education Center.  He is married to his wife Cassie, and they have three children.  His personal interest includes swimming. 

Gary J. Silko, MD
Program Director, Emeritus
Gary J. Silko, MD, MS, serves as vice president of Medical Education for Saint Vincent Health Center.  He is the former residency program director and continues to be active as a faculty member.  Besides his regular patient care and teaching activities, Dr. Silko coordinates the dermatology curriculum and runs the residency dermatology clinic.  His other interests include quality improvement and patient education.  He is a graduate of Penn State University and Jefferson Medical College.  He completed his family medicine residency at Saint Vincent and an academic family medicine fellowship at Case Western Reserve University.  He has enjoyed working with and teaching family medicine residents and students for more than 25 years.

Lisa Treusch, MD
Lisa Treusch, MD, graduated cum laude from Grove City College. She earned her medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in 1992 and served as chief resident while completing her family medicine residency at Saint Vincent Health Center. Dr. Treusch has been in practice at Elk Valley Medical Center since 1995. She is active in her church as a Bible study leader and enjoys spending time with her husband and two children doing outdoor activities such as backpacking, biking and cross country skiing.
