Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
  • Recognize the number of visits to the Emergency Department secondary to an adverse drug reaction (ADR).  
  • Identify a specific population who is at higher risk for developing an ADR.  
  • List the top five medications most associated with ADRs.
  • Discuss anticoagulation therapy and list risks involved in treatment.
  • Identify the most common therapeutic INR range, as defined by the American College of Chest Physicians.
  • Discuss the impact of an anticoagulation policy requiring warfarin to be reordered each day.
