Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Recognize the number of visits to the Emergency Department secondary to an adverse drug reaction (ADR).
- Identify a specific population who is at higher risk for developing an ADR.
- List the top five medications most associated with ADRs.
- Discuss anticoagulation therapy and list risks involved in treatment.
- Identify the most common therapeutic INR range, as defined by the American College of Chest Physicians.
- Discuss the impact of an anticoagulation policy requiring warfarin to be reordered each day.
