Thousands Attend Saint Vincent Festival of Trees!
The Saint Vincent Auxiliary 28th Annual Festival of Trees saw another year of record attendance making 2012 the most successful year ever!
The five-day Festival was held at Erie’s Bayfront Convention Center (BCC) for the second consecutive year allowing for more professionally decorated trees to span the hallways and ballroom of the BCC. The Festival also delighted thousands of children who visited the expanded North Pole Experience, Santa’s Castle with live reindeer, Breakfast with Santa and many other interactive areas!
The most popular tree, as voted on by each Festivalgoer, went to “Candy Land” sponsored by Interim HealthCare and decorated by Janel Potratz Levin from Potratz Floral Shop & Greenhouses. The second place vote went to the tree “Come and Play! Everything’s A-OK!” sponsored and decorated by the Bayfront Grille at the Sheraton Erie Bayfront Hotel and third place was “The Land of the Lorax” sponsored by Scott and Linda Whalen and decorated by Julie Smith of Distinctive Signs.
This event would never be possible without the generous corporations and individuals that sponsor the trees along with other Festival events nor would it be possible without the creativity and expertise of the many professional decorators, entertainers and volunteers.
All proceeds from this event benefit the Saint Vincent Children’s Miracle Network, which raises funds to save and improve the lives of children in the northwestern Pennsylvania region.
